I just mounted this piece of crap rear Dunlop E3 July 20th 2015 and I already had to replace it Saturday! Oh wait, that was 15,775 miles ago and many of those miles two up. Great service from the only American made motorcycle tire. Dunlop Elite 3?s rock! Imagine what I could get if I wasn't so busy/lazy and actually checked my tire pressure between changes.

I've never heard of getting less miles on the front. I get 24K on the front E3 consistently

I average around 17K on a set, the front is almost always in worse shape than the rear. For some reason the front gets worn into a V-shape with more tread in the center than on the sides. Could be the way I ride...

They have that new harder compound strip in the middle. My front does that too but there are a lot more miles in it even after the strip is protruded , at least there are more miles for me.

dunlops are known for long wear, my preferred pirelli night dragons are known for traction, wet or dry + overall great handling, your choice for sure! tyres do one or the other or something between, better tyres are safer as well!!

I have the newer E3. It's actually not new as it came out a few years ago.. it's the E3 MT...I tried it as I needed a tires 600 miles from home .. I was excited to hear about a longer wearing tire.. I made sure to have 40 psi in it.. and it already started to cup "slightly" at 1500 miles. I only noticed I when i was cleaning the bike... I was hoping this E3 MT would be the savior ... but I have my doubts. This upcoming year if the E3 gets noisy like the last one did, then I'm going back to the good year assurance fuel max tire, 175/60-16

I find the new E3s to be quieter, to the point I miss the sound of the old E3s. The "cupping" to me is a scallop, but never has given me any concern or angst about safety or longevity. The E3s continue to be more than adequate for my needs and application.

Anyone with the Centramatics balancers, did you replace the rotor bolts or lock-tite them? I have mine sitting on the bench and want to install them before the spring riding season!

I reused mine, plus also used blue lock-tite. Have been using Centramatics on an 07 Vegas and 08 Vision for 2 years. Love the ride on both bikes

Since the Night Dragons are not made in our recommended size, are you running the 180/70R16? And is the bigger tire causing any issue? Thanks!
