did you have something covering the lens on the go pro? Some of those "tink" sounds seem like they could be fatal to a lens!!

Anyone ever heard or read of any tire bead failures when running the darkside. That seems to be what everyone points to when naysaying, but I've never seen any reports about that...

I wanna ride down that road, there even appear to be tractor tread marks in the dirt. I wonder if a car tire rides better in dirt than an E3. Never seen a video or conversation on it. Hmmm. Wonder if I can spread a Michelin dirt bike tire with knobbies on it. Oh the places I can go. How deep in a stream can you get a Vision before it starts to float or choke out.

INteresting video. I'm always intrigued with the ole car tire. But I've seen too many car tires lose the center tread and your stuck with the sidewall left. Never seen that with a bike tire. But I don't work at a dealership or ask the question. The one person I did talk to who rode a car tire said he didn't like the lean it gave, felt like you could feel the point where the tire crested and fell quickly into the turn. So, I guess, my question, is are you giving up that sport bike lean angle for high mileage, cause I really enjoy scraping my tipovers.

You need to talk to more them one darksider before you make that statement. They corner just fine for an average rider if you get the air pressure rite. And you can brake pretty hard before the rear locks up when you don't have ABS. Love mine and will never do back. Still on my original CT.

i'll bite - wingit3611 - I don't see where I made a statement one way or the other. I was merely explaining what he told me. Please enlighten me. Do you scrape the tipovers? Thats a very big lean angle especially if you stand back and look at it. That's the part of the bike I DON"T want to give up, I like the lean. I'm very suspicious that once you lean the bike over that far, you almost have to be riding on the sidewall or very little side tread. Lay your bike on the tipovers and tell me what you see. Both sides of my bike I have ground quite a bit of material off of the tipovers. Just looking for info.

Well, I heard once from my brother's uncle's nephew's brother-in-law's cousin, it happened to him... or was it my cousin's brother's uncle's son-in-law...but anyway...

In Kanada, we have no paved roads, so we avoid CT's on our laneways - they are like slicks on a dragster - good for straight flat gravel - but no good on mountain logging roads. So don't come riding here with CT's - you might damage something.... and then stick our government ( us taxpayers ) with paying off your costs to raise your stupid kids. Use real rubber, OK ???

As I said you need to talk to more than one guy. Maybe a 100 and repeat what THEY say.

In 7 years, one guy is all I have ever spoke to about it and he didn't own it. I wasn't looking for a poll or to take inventory, and I sure as heck ain't typing what a 100 of these guys tell me. I remembered what dude told me and thought I might inquire about this certain aspect of it. Which I was asking your opinion on and possibly a photo of tire and tip overs. Why not just understand the first point is the setup for the question, it's how dialogue is created. Now how about my question.

cokeman3272 - keep the vid's a coming, I like interesting views. Do you have one where a guy is leaning the bike over on the tipovers in motion and not crashing, but then again that might be interesting?

Sorry, I don't have video, but I have scraped tipovers at speed with and without a CT (no crashing involved). It's not pleasant either way. I'll stick to scraping floorboards.
